Star Trek DVDs Come With Galaxy of Special Extras


When J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek comes out on DVD and Blu-ray later this month, Trekkers with their credit cards set on “buy” will have multiple collectible options to choose from.

Here’s a rundown of deluxe packaging and special offers available from various retailers when Star Trek beams into stores Nov. 17:

Best Buy: Collectible gift set with four-pack of Federation badge pins (pictured above).

Trans World stores (F.Y.E./Coconuts Music & Movies/Suncoast): Collectible Steelbook packaging (see below).

Hollywood Video: Rent/buy any Star Trek DVD and be entered to win an autographed poster of Uhura (played by Zoe Saldana, right).

CVS: Buy $15 or more in iTunes gift cards and get the single-disc Star Trek DVD for $10 (first week only).

Target: Limited-edition collectible Starship Enterprise packaging assembles to become a U.S.S. Enterprise package (two-Disc DVD and three-disc Blu-ray editions, see below).

Amazon.com: Limited-edition Blu-ray replica gift set (three-disc plus digital copy).

Collectible Steelbook packaging will be available at F.Y.E., Coconuts and Suncoast in the United States and Future Shop in Canada.

Canadian retailers:

Best Buy Canada: Three-disc special edition Blu-ray collectible packaging assembles to become a U.S.S. Enterprisepackage (same as Target in the United States).

Future Shop: Exclusive two-disc Steelbook edition and three-disc Blu-ray Steelbook edition.

HMV: Limited-edition, three-disc Blu-ray gift set includes digital copy and four replica Starfleet division badges.

Wal-Mart Canada: Exclusive lenticular o-sleeve package on two-disc DVD.
