Battlestar' creator for 'Star Trek' series?

Battlestar Galactica and Caprica creator Ronald D. Moore is reportedly considering a return to Star Trek.

Moore wrote and produced for Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager throughout the 1990s.

Speaking to Den of Geek, the 45-year-old revealed that he would now consider returning to the franchise in some form.

"I'd seriously consider it," Moore said when asked if he would produce another Star Trek TV series.

He added: "I think, at the moment, the franchise is in good hands. J.J. Abrams has a really good take on it. I thought the last movie was very good. I'm confident that he's going to chart a direction for Star Trek for the foreseeable future."

CBS Corp, which holds the current rights to the sci-fi TV franchise, has not announced plans for a new Star Trek series.
