Roddenberry Documentary 'Trek Nation' Ready To Go

One of the things that Eugene W. Roddenberry had vowed to finish no matter how long it takes was his answer to the popular, yet controversial, "Trekkies" documentary with his own take called "Trek Nation."

Production of the documentary started several years ago with visits to Star Trek conventions and other events around the country and world. It included interviews with some of the most famous names, not only in Trekdom, but in science-fiction in general. And was meant to be an intimate look at who fans really were, and what Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek philosophy was.

That documentary is finally almost ready to go, and Roddenberry Productions -- led by Roddenberry and Trevor Roth -- is giving fans a new first look at "Trek Nation."

This clip really shows the new direction the documentary took, and has some new faces including Stan Lee, George Lucas and "Star Trek" director J.J. Abrams.

No distributor has been found for the documentary just yet, but Roth tells Airlock Alpha they're actively working on it, and would like to have this work released sometime this year.

Don't know about you guys, but we can't wait to see it!
