'Star Trek' U.S.S. Enterprise captain's chair for sale

Want to go where Star Trek captains have gone before?

A replica of Captain Picard's U.S.S. Enterprise chair, used in a now-defunct Las Vegas attraction, is set to be sold, along with furniture from Quark's bar, Borg alcoves and Starfleet costumes and other props.

The items, seen in the 1980s series Star Trek: The Next Generation and its movie adaptations, are from Star Trek: The Experience, a Las Vegas exhibit that allowed visitors to sit in the captain's chair on sets designed to look like the bridges of Enterprise starships from the 1960s original series and its newer version.

The attraction, which ran at the Las Vegas Hilton from 1998 to 2008, also included a simulation ride, actors playing characters from the show and a restaurant. A similar exhibit was set up in several U.S. cities as part of a tour in 2008.

Star Trek captains chairs will be auctioned off by sci-fi auctioneer Propworx Inc. while larger items are set to be sold on Saturday in a warehouse sale in Las Vegas.
