The largest traveling exhibition of Star Trek memorabilia and information will be beamed into downtown Riverside this summer for an eight-month run at the Riverside Metropolitan Museum. "Star Trek the Exhibition: Where Science Meets Science Fiction" will open the week of June 15 in the former Sweeney Gallery space on Main Street.
The Riverside City Council on Tuesday approved spending $75,000 to secure the first Inland appearance of the exhibit, which includes costumes and props, displays and interactive games. Officials expect it to draw at least 40,000 visitors and bring in $800,000.
Tickets will be $15 for adults and $12 for children and seniors, with group discounts available. Information will be posted later on the museum Web page at www.riversideca.gov/museum.
