Maine's Nichols All Green In 'Star Trek;'

The Maine actress featured in steamy scenes with Captain Kirk in "Star Trek" says she doesn't have to worry about being pestered by overzealous trekkies. After all, she says no one would recognize her without the red hair and green body as cadet Gaila.

Augusta native Rachel Nichols tells Portland Magazine that it took five hours to be painted green and to have her hair done for scenes in the movie. Later this summer, she'll play an even bigger role in "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra."

Nichols says it's a far cry from the life of power suits and briefcases she envisioned when she left Maine to attend Columbia University. She says she still gets back to Augusta, and plans a visit before a press tour to promote the new "G.I. Joe" movie.
