J.J. Abrams Star Trek Movie Wins Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film at Empire Awards

Jameson Empire Film Awards were held in London. J.J. Abrams Star Trek movie went in to the event nominated for three awards (Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film) and were the winner of Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film.

Star Trek actor Simon Pegg pick up Star Trek award, saying "Thank god the best looking member of the crew is here to pick this up. This is lovely and I'm hugely part of this story, but on behalf of JJ and the rest of the crew, thank you. I said I wasn't going to cry but (Scottish accent) you cannae defy the laws of physics."

Zoe Saldana also won Best Actress for Avatar and Star Trek The Next Generation star Patrick Stewart was on hand to present an award.
