Star Trek Auction

Gayle Anderson was live in Los Angeles with a preview of the Las Vegas "STAR TREK AUCTION". Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 2 pm (PDT), Julien's Auctions presents the "STAR TREK AUCTION" featuring property from the estate of Gene and Majel Roddenberry, the creator and producer of the original "Star Trek" series, and William Shatner's collection for sale at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino Las Vegas. The assembled items include personal effects, furnishings, memorabilia, books and "Star Trek" related items from Gene and Majel Roddenberry's Bel Air home, such as a Gene Roddenberry hand annotated script from "Star Trek: The Next Generation"; costumes worn by Majel Barrett Roddenberry-Lwaxana Troi in both "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"; a copy of "I Sing the Body Electric" inscribed to Gene Roddenberry by Ray Bradbury; a Peabody Award for the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode; "The Big Good-Bye"; the remaining archive of Lincoln Enterprises "Star Trek" film clip collection; and more.

In line with Gene Roddenberry's goal "to create a brighter future", all proceeds from the sale of Gene Roddenberry's items will be donated to The Roddenberry Foundation, which makes grants to support the four pillars of the Roddenberry Philanthropic Philosophy: Children, Education, Inspiration, and Environment.

In addition to the Roddenberry estate items, William Shatner has consigned a selection of property from his life and career with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Hollywood Charity Horse Show (www.horseshow.org), Mr. Shatner's annual charity event that benefits children's charities. His passion for horses and philanthropy were united through his involvement with AHEAD WITH HORSES (www.aheadwithhorses.org), a therapeutic riding charity that gives physically and mentally challenged children the thrill of riding a horse and boosting their confidence and self-esteem, often with life-changing results.
The William Shatner collection features his 2005 FXDC Dyna Super Glide Custom Harley Davidson, produced by Harley Davidson in 1971; his Golden Globe nomination certificates for "Boston Legal"; a "Rescue 911" pinball machine; William Shatner's original "Walk of Fame" plaque when he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in May 1983; and various ephemera from his personal collection relating to "Star Trek" and other productions from his career.

The "STAR TREK AUCTION" also features memorabilia from the recent "Star Trek" remake, including 25 props, costumes and set pieces from the film. Highlights of the iconic costumes available include wardrobe worn by franchise legend Leonard Nimoy during his pivotal meeting with the young James T. Kirk, Starfleet cadet costumes as worn by Zoe Saldana and Chris Pine, and the insignia badges needed to complete a Star Fleet Uniform ensemble. These items are being auctioned to benefit the Children's Defense Fund (www.childrensdefense.org) and Student Veterans of America (www.studentveterans.org).

A public exhibition of the auction items will be on the mezzanine level of Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino Las Vegas from Monday, June 14th to Thursday, June 24th from 10 am to 10 pm daily. To commemorate this historic event, William Shatner will be available for photo ops and autographs on Thursday, June 24th at the "Star Trek" exhibition at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas at 11 am (PST) and 5 pm (PST).

A full color limited edition catalog detailing the history and description of each lot in the auction is available for purchase for $50.

Registration is REQUIRED to bid in the live auction and can be done either in person at the exhibitions and auction or by visiting Julien's Auctions online (www.juliensauctions.com) before the sale or by calling (310) 836-1818. There are four ways to place bids in this sale: in person at the auction, online, over the phone through an auction representative, and through an absentee bid.
