Pegg Testifies In Dunst Stolen Purse Trial

STAR TREK actor SIMON PEGG has testified against a man accused of stealing actress KIRSTEN DUNST's $2,000 (£1,300) purse from a hotel room.

James Jimenez is facing charges of felony burglary after allegedly raiding the star's suite at the SoHo Grand Hotel in Manhattan in 2007, while the actress was filming How to Lose Friends and Alienate People with Pegg and Megan Fox.

Pegg told the jury at Manhattan Supreme Court he had also been the victim of thieves and had lost his digital camera and iPod in the incident, after leaving them in what he thought was a safe penthouse suite.

He said, "We figured that the floor was secure because of the rigmarole it had taken to get up there."

Jimenez was convicted of trespassing last year (09), but jurors were left deadlocked on a more serious burglary charge, for which he is being retried.

Dunst testified in the trial on Tuesday (01Jun10).
