Star Trek Outdoor Summer Film Festival

The Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) is ready to beam up with the Crystal Screen: Star Trek Outdoor Summer Film Festival.
This year’s 11-week festival kicks off Monday, June 7 with 1979’s "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and will culminate with last year’s hit, "Star Trek." To stay ahead of the game and have some fun with the following year, the BID has developed a way to engage festival goers in next year’s planning. The theme for next summer will be announced on the opening night of this season. After the announcement, film enthusiasts will be able to vote on which films should be included in the 2011 festival.
"Last summer’s series was a smashing success with large crowds, a bigger screen and an even more powerful sound system," said Angela Fox, President/CEO of the Crystal City BID. "We are excited to showcase Crystal Screen: Star Trek and we’re even more excited about next year’s theme and allowing our fans to vote on the films to be included!"
Following the announcement of the 2011 summer film festival theme on June 7, everyone is invited to vote on which films should be included in the 2011 festival. To vote, visit the Crystal City BID’s homepage at www.crystalcity.org.
