Star Trek Online "Fleet Action" trailers delve into gameplay

Exploring the special events in upcoming MMO

The Old Republic is still in development, but Star Trek Online is just about finished, slated for release on February 2 next year. Atari and Cryptic Studios have released a pair of trailers today, showing off the "Fleet Action" system.

In STO, world events are referred to as "Fleet Action." As you traverse the universe in your starship, you'll stumble upon random ongoing battles here and there, and the game lets you engage or come back another time to participate. In other words, these are quests of epic proportions. Then again, isn't something automatically "epic" if it occurs in space?
