Science meets science fiction in Star Trek: The Exhibition, which opens this week at the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, CA, and runs through Jan. 3, 2010. The exhibit is also open at Hollywood & Highland in Hollywood.
The 15,000 square foot touring exhibit features costumes, props, and memorabilia from the Star Trek franchise. Some items you might see in the exhibit are: Capt. Kirk’s costume, Picard’s Captain’s Chair, a tricorder, a Romulan pistol, and a full-scale replica of the sickbay from The Next Generation. (I specify might see because not all items in the exhibit appear at every venue.) Fans who were lucky enough to attend the event’s opening in San Jose even got to hear from George Takei (Hikaru Sulu).
