See the new Star Trek movie in IMAX at Kennedy Space Center and more

If you haven't already seen the new Star Trek movie, you are missing out on a treat! Through September 7th, Star Trek is being shown daily on the IMAX screen at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The action scenes are much more realisitic on a five-story screen than in a regular cineplex.

Tickets are available for the 4:30 pm showing for $7.50 per person. However, you must also purchase an admission ticket. If you wait until the 7:00 pm showing, additional purchase of admission isn't required! Tickets can be purchased in advance on the main website. Just print out the receipt once you've bought them, and you can skip the line at the ticket counter.

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is a terrific place to take the kids or bring a date, but it can be a budget-buster. A regular adult admission is $38. It's well worth the price, but younger kids can easily get bored, so if you are planning a trip to Titusville, start with the movie and gauge the interest of your kids before dropping $150+ on the package deal! If you do have a future space explorer in your family, reserve a spot for the "Lunch with an Astronaut" event. There is a rotating schedule of special guests, including Story Musgrave. It's a great opportunity for your child (or child-at-heart) to ask questions about living and working in space and hear what it's really like.

Better still, check the rocket/shuttle countdown timer and plan your visit to see a launch in person. The next scheduled launch is August 12th. Maybe I'll see you there!
