Star Trek D-A-C Coming To PSN 'Later This Summer

It's been more than two months since Star Trek hit theaters, but PlayStation 3 owners are still waiting on Star Trek D-A-C. And http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3175320 Paramount hasn't forgotten, because they've once again confirmed the title for both the PS3 and PC.

The PSN edition of the game will come with gameplay updates, including variable AI difficulty settings, "improved mechanics" for capturing control points in Conquest games, and customizable goals. The later will allow players to set game time to limits and the number of kills needed to win.

The original game pitted the Federation against the Romulans in top-down combat, each each side getting a flagship, fighter and bomber. To that, the PSN version will add the support frigate, which will allow players to heal friendly ships and easily target enemy escape pods.

Star Trek D-A-C debuted on the Xbox 360 back in May, garnering a C in our review. We called it a "couple hours of mindless fun," but noted its "steep learning curve and lack of anything to do outside of endless skimishes in limited arenas." It appears that none of those issues will be addressed in the PSN version, most likely limiting its appeal to Trekkers who just couldn't get enough of the movie.

Look for Star Trek D-A-C "later this summer," with the PC version to follow "shortly after."
