'Trek' Star Adds a New Pegg to the Family

'Star Trek' and 'Shaun of the Dead' star Simon Pegg is a first-time dad! PEOPLE's Celebrity Baby Blog reported the pregnancy in February, when Pegg said that he was "hoping for a baby girl," but admitted that "I really don't mind what we have" and that he and wife Maureen McCann were "thinking of having it in America as the baby will then have dual citizenship." All of Pegg's wishes came true with the birth of a healthy baby girl - in Los Angeles.

Pegg is planning to keep the private details of his newly expanded family close to the vest. The star writes on his own blog, "Hello all. As is being reported by various news sources (don't know who told them, 'cos it wasn't us) we had a little girl last week. Name, weight, time, place etc all belong to us and we won't be going out of our way to divulge them anytime soon. Rest assured, everyone is well.
