Star Trek's Sulu beams over to Franklin Institute

Attention trekkers and trekkies! George Takei, a.k.a. Mr. Sulu, from the original Star Trek series will materialize at Philadelphia's Franklin Institute on Thursday, August 20 to meet, greet and chat with fans. Although Star Trek: The Exhibition has been running at the Institute since mid-May, Takei's appearance is expected to make it a truly out-of-this-world experience for series aficionados. "An Evening with George Takei" begins at 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $25.00 for the general public and $20.00 for Franklin Institute members. Tickets will also includes admission to the Star Trek exhibit after 5:00 p.m. Star Trek: The Exhibition features the universe's most comprehensive collection of props and artifacts spanning 40 years of the television and movie series. Among the iconic items are Kirk's original captain's chair and the Enterprise bridge from The Next Generation. The exhibit will run at the Franklin Instite until September 30.
