"Star Trek" took two feature film noms as the Hollywood Post Alliance announced the nominees for the 2009 HPA Awards.
The Paramount tentpole received noms for editing and compositing. Among this year's other releases, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" was also nommed for compositing while "Watchmen," "Up" and "Quantum of Solace" drew bids for audio post.
Because of the HPA Awards' early kudos calendar, "Slumdog Millionaire" gets a shot at one more award, for editing, up against "Star Trek" and "The Hurt Locker." "Defiance" competes against "Pride and Glory" and "Julie and Julia" for honors in the color grading in a DI process category.
Industrial Light & Magic took two compositing noms. Other companies getting multiple noms include Walt Disney Studio Post Production Services, LaserPacific, Outside Editorial and Margarita Mix Santa Monica.
