Boldly Go With Star Trek Season Two on Blu-Ray This September

J.J. Abrams’ Trek reboot may have monopolized both the headlines and the box office earlier this year, but – as our own Shatner-obsessed Josh Tyler will attest – you still can’t beat the original. Thankfully, all this Nü-Trek hubbub means the old-school adventures of Kirk, Spock, and McCoy Prime have been getting all gussied up for Blu-ray.

CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainmentwill release the second season of Star Trek: The Original Series as a seven-disc Blu-ray set this September 22nd. The second season contains some of the show’s best episodes, including “The Trouble With Tribbles,” “Mirror, Mirror,” and “The Doomsday Machine.” You’ll also have the option of choosing between the shiny special editions with updated effects or the original versions, in all their cheesy, model-tastic glory.
