J.J. Abrams' reimagined Star Trek took the top home video award this week at the Digital Entertainment Group's reception during the Consumer Electronics Show.
Other home video awards for creative excellence and bonus features include: The Wizard of Oz – 70th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition (catalog); Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series (TV); Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure (non-theatrical); and The Rolling Stones: Gimme Shelter (music).
Innovation awards for home video equipment were also given for sight (Pioneer's Elite Kuro PRO-141FD HDTV); video source (LG's BD390 Blu-ray Disc Player); and sound (Marantz' SR6004 A/V Receiver).
Electronics superstore chain Best Buy also received awards for best home video hardware and software retailer. Indianapolis-based HH Gregg Appliances and Electronics won regional retailer of the year.
